How the Christian Girl Autumn lady reignited my inspiration and motivation to blog again, despite the fact that I am not religious.
August slipped away in a moment in time.

Every year when summer comes to end, I am reminded of a comic strip from one of my favorite comics, Calvin & Hobbes.
I have regrettably neglected my blog, and it is currently 3:27am, and I am feeling that regret.
I have no excuses, other than the fact that I’ve been, well, busy. But not really.
I do miss writing, and just creating organic posts based on what I’m feeling at the moment, as opposed to Instagram, which is just flashy updates, and TikTok, which is just random brainfarts, or hopping on whatever’s trending at the moment.
Ah, yes, I do miss blogs! Even if no one reads them, I do, and I am not no one.
Actually, the reason why I felt the sudden urge to update my blog is because I went down the Internet rabbit hole. With fall upon us (well, in Texas, it’ll be another 2 months…), I did some research for my upcoming fall trends, which led me to gather fall outfits and aesthetics for inspiration, and alas, of course I ended up on Christian Girl Autumn’s page (aka CMCovington). I actually don’t even know her real name, but we all know that blogger who has been around for a decade! Well, to my surprise, I became quite inspired by her content and even am considering purchasing a pair of jeans from one of her links. I also came to admire and respect her work ethic. I mean, she’s been around for decade, which is the around the time I started blogging as well, and her work has been so consistent. I’ll be honest, I used to not really like her content because I didn’t really relate to her style back then, but I really like her look now. Talk about glow up! She’s only a few years older than I am, but she’s accomplished so much with her blog. And yes, blogging is work. I hate it when people see me doing Instagram stuff and think I’m just doing it for fun. Yes, it is partially fun, but at the end of the day: planning, styling, shooting, modeling, creating, editing, publishing, marketing content…it is all so much work. This is why I really admire those bloggers are create high quality content and are consistent with it. Consistency is key!
Ramble and rant aside, I think part of the reason why I neglected my blog is mostly because people don’t really read blogs anymore. But CMCovington showed me that even though Instagram is her most popular platform, having a blog really is great for her online presence. It’s a solid platform that most likely will not go anywhere. Plus, where I clicks the link to the jeans is from her blog.
So…as if it’s not already so much work doing just Instagram…I’m going to make an effort to commit to this blog. I really do miss just dispelling my thoughts into writing. It’s so calming and relieving at the same time. I haven’t written in a while. I guess I am being a little manic right now, haha. It is 3:36am. Oh god, yeah I do sound like a manic girl. Manic Pixie Not Your Dream Girl is my IG bio, after all.
Even though I haven’t been updating my personal blog much –, which is upsetting because I did put a ton of time and sweat and tears into creating this website in 2020. (I actually had my first blog way back, but then I had it deleted after neglecting it again.) — I have been active online all summer, which you can see from my Instagram feeds:
I am getting a little tired of the “rows of 3” thing I’ve got going on since 2020, and maybe if I’m more active on my blog, I can just tell people to visit my blog for more photos. I know a lot of bloggers / creators / Instagrammers will recycle content. I guess the “rows of 3” helps me focus more, even though it’s not my favorite style.
Anyways! I’m going to journal my summer here starting tomorrow. I currently am not working a 9-5 job, so I can make the time for sure.
Speaking of my terrible sleep schedule, I’d gotten back from San Diego, where we stayed at a family friend’s house in Rancho Santa Fe, about 1.5 weeks ago, and I’ve been very sedentary as of late. Mostly because I’ve come down with a cold after my trip, and my sleep schedule hasn’t been helping me recover from it. But also because I’ve been editing the last of my summer content nonstop (again, blogging / content is WORK), and let me tell you: editing photos and videos can be sooo boring. Yes, it’s fun at time, but it can be so laborious and time consuming! So I’ve really just been hunkering down and editing, with very little physical activities beside a couple of long walks I’ve taken.
Okay okay. Enough. Good night!
xx, vt
